Artistic Inspiration:
- In Fade my artistic inspirations was an illustration for a book called Fairy Circus by Dorothy Lathrop and Girl with Red Hair by Fabian Perez. In Lathrop's piece I used the idea of floating flowers into my piece but having the petals float away rather than the whole flower. In Perez's piece I liked the idea of not being able to see her face and only getting a back view of the girl, causing the piece overall to seem more dramatic.

Planning Sketches:
- I created three planning sketches to choose from.

Dry Point Etching Process:Before I started etching I lined up my dry point plate with my sketch and taped down two of the corners. This made the etching process easier to do because the plate couldn't move as much, giving me more control to scratch into the plate.

Dry Point Printing Process:During my dry printing process I struggled with knowing when to stop removing the ink off of the plate without over doing it. This caused some of my prints to either have smudges on them or look a bit blurry.

Critique:
- In my piece for inspiration I used Fairy Circus by Dorothy Lathrop and Girl with Red Hair by Fabian Perez. I used Fairy Circus illustration as the idea for the flowers in my piece showing the petal of my flowers blowing away, just like Dorothy Lathrop's. The Girl with the Red Hair was used as the position of the girl in my piece was facing. You can see in Fabian Perez's piece that she was facing to where her back was being shown in which I included in my piece to represent the hidden aspects of her life that she may not want to be shown. I feel like you would have to know theses pieces to be able to see a connection with them because they are not incredibly popular but otherwise I feel like my artist inspiration was represent in my work.
